Cobham SATCOM in Kgs. Lyngby is seeking a self-motivated individual who enjoys taking up challenges to support the new product development in the technology segment as a Material Project Manager. In this role, you will need to have close collaboration with cross-functional teams and provide frequent and clear material availability data to the team to ensure the material pipeline is on time to support product development.

As a Material Project Manager your key responsibilities will be:

Alongside sourcing and purchasing tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization, Material Project Managers are expected to possess a strong knowledge of the industry sector and specific suppliers, to optimize the value of purchased goods and services while delivering the highest quality at the lowest possible costs. Managing day-to-day procurement activities including internal and vendor communications; negotiating schedule and delivery changes with vendors. Ensure procurement activity is undertaken in line with defined Cobham processes and agreements. Issue purchase orders directed by purchase requisition from Planner or MRP action message and in accordance with planned inventory strategies. Work to identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve processes. Amend or close Purchase Orders. Perform approved one-off exception purchases. Utilise and support generation of data analytics, forecast demand, and identify baselines for purchasing that meet prioritized business requirements. Manage supplier communications, including sourcing event invitations, issue resolution, delivery schedule and escalate whenever there is a roadblock or an issue that will prevent the NPI materials to be delivered on time. Receive, analyse, and resolve supplier inquiries, disputes, and payment discrepancies. Lead teams for technical and supplier evaluation to achieve ‘sign off phase’ for each project to ensure relevant documentation is held on file, validated and accredited. Demonstrate Stakeholder Management to gain ‘buy in’ and confidence of the project attributes and timing in favour of the business group through presentation of the project and the business case. Manage and deliver projects with a high level of competency and confidence. Support the business and product, demonstrating value add and business acumen. Oversee the translation of project technical requirements into purchasing specifications and ensure best value components are sourced in line with established frameworks and suppliers. Perform data analytics, forecast demand, and identify baselines for purchasing that meet prioritized business requirements. Collaboration and communication with cross-functions in the business units. Presentation of key figures/projects to be presented to senior managers as and when required. As a Material Project Manager your qualifications should ideally be:

5–10 years of NPI buying experience. Recognise the ways that supply chains link value chains. Supplier relationship management. Able to work to financial and time sensitive constraints. Certification in Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) is a plus. Sourcing / commodity management experience is a plus. We Offer
