Product Manager, Tracker

Cobham Satcom / SeaTel is the world leader in antenna systems. We produce the most advanced technology in satellite communications for commercial use. We have an immediate need for a Product Manager located at our R & D and Manufacturing facility in Concord CA.
The Concord location of Cobham Satcom is the home of SeaTel maritime and Land Antennas. This facility develops and manufactures motion stabilized antennas that range in size from 0.6 m to 6 m. Our antennas are installed around the world.

The Product Manager, Tracker at Cobham Satcom plays an integral role in our Marketing, Sales, and R&D efforts through product life cycle management.
Satcom experience is required for this role, must be a US Person.

Duties include

• Conducting market research and producing customer/market requirement for next generation products.
• Bid generation.
• Overall Program schedule to include WBS.
• Resource loaded schedule for entire program.
• Formulate, organize, and monitor inter-connected projects.
• Decide on suitable strategies and objectives.
• Coordinate cross-project activities.
• Lead and evaluate project managers and other staff.
• Develop and control deadlines, budgets, and activities.
• Apply change, risk, and resource management.
• Assume responsibility for the program’s people and vendors.
• Assess program performance and aim to maximize ROI.
• Resolve projects’ higher scope issue.
• Prepare reports for program directors.
• Answer customer/sales technical questions re: performance, certifications, regulatory issues.
• Define New SKUs when needed and write configuration sheets to support new system development through the NMR process.
• Business Case Development.
  
  Knowledge/Skills Required \
• Proposal generation in response to customer requests for solutions.
• Basic understanding of RF Theory is required.
• Proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position.
• Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
• Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software (Basecamp, MS Project etc.) is a strong advantage.
• Outstanding leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving ability.
  
  Education
• Electrical, Business, or similar degree desirable, but will substitute years of hands-on experience in lieu of education.
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
  
  Preferred Qualifications
• Product management or project management experience is preferred.
• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal teams and external parties preferred.
• Previous product Line/Life Cycle Management (concept to cradle to grave) experience preferred.
• Successful new product launch experience into global marketplace a plus.
• Ability to Generate Proposal Responses to Request for Quotations.
• Travel up to 25-50% of the time may be required.
  Per the requirements of 8 U.S.C 1234, any individual selected for this role must be a citizen of the United States of America. As a Drafter at Cobham Satcom (Concord office, CA) you will provide drafting support for the engineering department to develop system block diagrams, schematics and wiring diagrams. You will create and maintain BOMs. You will update/create drawings per red-lines. You will assist writing manuals.
