Project Manager (Maternity Cover)
About the Job We are seeking a versatile Project Manager to join our PMO office within the R&D department for the next 6 months. This role will encompass managing smaller projects while also taking on an internal quality assurance function, ensuring adherence to development processes and procedures, including design and gate reviews, as well as formal document approval. You will be working closely with mechanical and electrical engineers and having a background in either field is seen as valuable experience.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing project deliverables for smaller projects within our product groups. You will collaborate with a project team of around ten members. You will report to the PMO Director and interface with a wide range of stakeholders across our organization. As a quality assurer, you will interface with the broader project management community doing internal audits of project management governance and adherence to the project development processes and procedures.
Key responsibilities
• Manage project deliverables: As Project Manager you will be tasked to drive results by setting clear directions, making informed decisions, managing execution, and proactively identifying and resolving challenges. You will utilize milestones, schedules, cost management, and risk analysis as your primary tools, maintaining an overview even when priorities shift.
• Monitor development processes: You will be tasked to enforce and monitor development processes, including design and gate reviews and formal document approval.
• Internal quality assurance: You will play a crucial role in quality assurance, monitoring project adherence to established development processes and procedures. This includes overseeing design and gate reviews and ensuring formal document approvals are completed on time, as well as up-to-date forecasting of cost and resources.
• Day-to-day support: You will support your project team in overcoming technical challenges while ensuring compliance with quality standards. You will be responsible for the overall success of the project in close collaboration with the Program Director and Product Management.
As our new Project Manager your qualifications should ideally be: • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or electronics engineering. • You have some experience managing smaller projects within electronics product development. • You are familiar with regulatory requirements and process demands, understanding what it takes to achieve both short- and long-term goals. • You possess strong knowledge of functional disciplines and supply chain management.
