Student Software Engineer

Become a Student Software Engineer at Cobham Satcom Are you a student passionate about technology, with a desire to support development projects by ensuring that embedded software works and runs smoothly? Then we might have a position that is just right for you!

About the position As a Student Software Engineer, you will join our software team and engage in various tasks, including enhancing our workflow through automated testing for improved efficiency. You will assist in developing software tools and have the opportunity to expand your skills in embedded software development and programming. Your responsibilities will also include systems testing, where you will design, implement, and execute automated tests. This role offers hands-on experience and collaboration with talented colleagues who share your passion for programming.

Amongst other things you will • Set-up and perform manual/automated software systems testing. • Maintain our automated tests and test environment using Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins etc. • Maintain software for our Antennas & Terminals using Linux and programming languages such as Python, C++ and bash/shell scripts. • Collaborate with various engineers to support development projects. • Support the Software Team with various software-related tasks

Your skills and qualifications will preferably include • Studying a relevant engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree in software, electrical engineering or other closely related field, preferably with 1,5-3 years left of your studies. • Hands-on experience with and knowledge within electronics is a plus. • The ideal candidate has experience with Linux-environments and programming, e.g., Python, bash/shell-scripts, and C++. • Relevant work or voluntary experience is an advantage – Highlight what you find interesting!
