System Integration And Test Engineer

Our Concord, R&D Team is looking for a dedicated System Integration and Test Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring that various software, mechanical components and systems can work harmoniously together, allowing Cobham Satcom to leverage the full potential of our technology stack to ensure overall integration and functionality of our software systems, and deliver robust, efficient, and secure software solutions.

We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Integration and Test Engineer to support the design, integration, testing, and validation of satellite communications antenna systems and subsystems. This role is integral to a cross-functional engineering team focused on developing comprehensive antenna and RF technologies for satellite ground terminals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in RF systems, system integration, and test planning, coupled with a collaborative mindset that fosters effective communication and teamwork across various engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

Integration and Verification: Lead the planning and execution of integration and verification activities for antenna systems, ensuring alignment with both internal standards and customer requirements. • Documentation: Generate comprehensive test plans, procedures, test reports, and integration documentation that reflect a systems engineering approach and maintain requirements traceability. • Test Setup Design: Design and implement test setups for both component-level and system-level evaluations, focusing on RF performance and overall system functionality. • Hands-On Testing: Conduct hands-on testing in both lab and field environments, troubleshooting and resolving integration issues across various engineering domains. • System Architecture Participation: Collaborate in the design and architecture of satellite communications antenna systems and subsystems, ensuring a holistic view of system requirements. • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, RF, mechanical, and systems engineers to define and refine system requirements and interfaces, fostering a multidisciplinary approach. • Trade Studies and Assessments: Contribute to system-level trade studies and performance assessments, evaluating options based on technical feasibility and system performance. • Configuration Control: Maintain clear, accurate, and traceable test records and configuration control to support system integrity and compliance. • Team Coordination: Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including RF, digital, mechanical, and manufacturing, to ensure cohesive integration efforts. • Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with both internal and external stakeholders and customers to provide status updates, technical findings, and risk assessments, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.

As our System Integration & Test Engineer at Cobham Satcom, your qualifications should ideally be:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). • 3+ years of relevant experience in RF systems, antennas, or satellite communications. • Extensive experience with test instrumentation such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters. • Familiarity with satellite communication protocols, RF system architecture, and antenna measurement techniques. • Strong understanding of systems engineering, integration processes, and verification methodologies. • Proficiency with documentation and requirements tracking tools (e.g., DOORS, JIRA, Confluence). • Excellent communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.

We offer

Salary range: $95,000-120,000 USD depending on experience This is a full-time position, and the role is based at the Cobham Satcom site in Concord, California. Eligibility requires being either a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident of the US.
