System Integration and Test Manager

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Manager to lead our testing efforts for critical satellite communication infrastructure within our R&D department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and coordinating testing activities and releasing across multiple projects, ensuring the highest quality standards are met. You will manage a team of 10 testers across two locations, overseeing end-to-end testing processes that include both terminal and infrastructure components.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Test Planning and Specifications: • Define and implement the optimal test strategy for each delivery in accordance with project milestones. • As a single point of contact, collaborate with project managers and development teams to define testing scope and objectives. • Set direction for the delivery across the full life cycle for System testing to integration testing to FAT ensuring all key milestones are achieved in compliance with the Quality processes & framework.

  2. Test Execution and Coordination: • Oversee the execution of test cases, ensuring thorough testing of all components. • Coordinate testing activities with project managers and development teams to align on project milestones and deliverables. • Creating test documentation (test procedures, test reports, test plans, etc.) • Conducting and participating in risk analyses

  3. Test Environment Maintenance: • Manage and maintain test environments to ensure they are stable, reliable, and reflective of production settings. • Ensure that all necessary tools and resources are available for effective testing.

  4. Team Leadership: • Lead and mentor a team of testers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement. • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.

  5. Acceptance Testing with Customers: • Facilitate acceptance testing sessions with customers, ensuring their requirements are met and feedback is incorporated. • Document and track customer feedback and issues for resolution.

  6. Release Management: • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth release processes. • Oversee the release management process, ensuring that all testing is completed and documented before deployment.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Test Manager or in a similar role, preferably within the Satcom or telecommunications industry. Other key qualifications include:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on risk management. • You have the ability to carry out test integrations, analyze and communicate technically complex solutions. • Well versed in test estimation, managing SLAs/ KPIs, handling escalations and enabling teamwork. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. • Proven Experience in the development of governance processes and procedures to improve internal processes. • Familiarity with release management processes and tools. • Knowledge/ experience in Test automation solutions and services for network testing would be a plus.

Performance Metrics Your success will be evaluated through certain metrics. These include: • Achievement of project milestones and deadlines. • Quality and reliability of test results. • Efficiency and effectiveness of test automation strategies. • Customer satisfaction and feedback. • Team performance and development.
