SAILOR safety terminals are based on Cobham Satcom’s more than 70 years at the forefront of maritime safety communications, and the last 30 years as a Mobile Satcom Services (MSS) pioneer; with more than 300,000 maritime L-band antennas sold. Inmarsat Fleet Safety

Inmarsat's Fleet Safety modernises maritime safety communications by integrating the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) with broadband capabilities. It provides mandatory GMDSS functions such as Distress Alerting and Maritime Safety Information, along with Distress Chat and general communication services.

Fleet Safety enhances safety standards for global shipping and continues Inmarsat's long tradition of improving safety at sea with new communication functionalities. In parallel with messaging and data capabilities through new safety services, Fleet Safety offers comprehensive coverage and improved reliability for tens of thousands of vessels.

The SAILOR Fleet-C safety terminal provides up to 99.9% network availability for GMDSS and new safety services as part of Inmarsat Fleet Safety.

Iridium Certus Safety Suite

Iridium received certification from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to provide Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) services in May 2018. Iridium's service offers truly global coverage, even in the most remote waterways, by using its next generation Certus network.

With Iridium now ready for GMDSS, mariners have more options for emergency communication and the potential to enhance overall maritime safety using the Iridium Certus safety suite which features diverse services including anti-piracy (SSAS) and anti-theft monitoring, on board alarms and personal safety beacons.

The SAILOR 7200 GMDSS safety terminal for Iridium delivers reliable connectivity and voice communication for GMDSS and new safety capabilities over Iridium Certus.
